At first sight, KITT (which stands for Knight Industries Two Thousand) might look as a lowered Trans AM. But at the second sight, there is more behind the bonnet of the black runabout. KITT possesses a computer filled with faked intelligence, who is, moreover, very charming. Not only he goes much faster than other cars, but also he is able to jump over object, go on only two wheels, analyse subjects and unlock any doors. But there is more to it than that. During the course of the ninety episodes of “Knight Rider” you can see much more functions. His bodyshell is molecular-laminated – because of that, KITT is nearly indestructible. Only three persons know parts of the secret formula of the bodyshell, but nobody knows the whole one.
The German voice is spoken by the actor and dubbing speaker Gottfried Kramer, who was born in Hamburg on 25th May, 1925 and who committed suicide in June 1994. Beside KITT, Kramer gave his voice to Marlon Brando, Humphrey Bogart, Al Pacino or Burt Lancaster. He didn’t cope with the death of his wife.
