In the beginning of the series, between Devon and Michael there is a cold an impersonal atmosphere, which often causes for slapstick. In the course of time, more and more, they both get in situations like father and son. But Devon never will be able adapt to Michael’s marked culinary preferences.

Devon Miles was acted by Edward Mulhare, born on 8th April 1923 in Cork / Ireland and died from lung cancer on 24th May, 1997 in Los Angeles / California. The German voice of Edward Mulhare has been Hans Sievers, born 1941 in Lübeck. The NDR-speaker spoke Peter Falk (Colombo), too.
