Knight Rider (2008) Mistakes

Did you look carefully the Knight Rider (2008) film? Here you will find a listing with mistakes and puzzles in the new film!

Intro / Typeface: In the new Knight Rider film, the “R” has been pulled under permanently. But this is absent in mentioning “Deanna Russo” in the trailer. It seems to be obvious, that a default font has been used and only special signs, especially the “R” have been changed. But in mentioning Miss Russo, they forgot it. Charles Graiman’s repair shop / KITT 2x?: In the beginning, when the bad guys sifted through the garage of Charles Graiman the old KITT could be seen in the dark on his auto hoist. In another scene you can see a vehicle, almost taken apart, with an awning, which could be the old KITT. While the vehicle on the auto hoist looks like brand-new, the other vehicle is almost taken apart. So it looks like as in the garage are more vehicles which were built on the basis of a TransAm – but there was only one KITT, the proto type KARR has been abolished.

Charles Graiman’s garage / KITT licence number: You can shortly see the licence tag of the old KITT and its vehicle inspection sticker on the left side. But this sticker was on the right side at the old KITT.

Car chase on campus / Multi-function display not animated: While the car chase on campus, short time before the introduction of KITT, there occurred a view on Sarah by looking into the side window. If you look closely, the multi-function display is missing. Instead of that there is only a standard dressing. Perhaps they forgot the animation in this scene.

Car chase / Camera: If you look closely, you can see a small camera on the bonnet of Kitt, in the middle of the scanner.

Car chase / KITT out of order: The scenes of the car chases have been probably chosen highhanded because, while the first car chase, you can see a damaged KITT (floodlight, splashboard). But these damaging he contracts in the second car chase, and may not be seen in the first one, because KITT has been activated and hence commands the self-repair modus. Car chase Casino basement garage / Multi-function display deactivated: Also in this scene there is only a black dressing instead of the multi-function display.

Car chase / helicopter: It seems to be many different helicopters, each time you see the helicopter.

Fight scene in front of the hotel / Headset is missing: When Mike, his mother and Charles leave the motel, Mike wears a headset for communicating with KITT. Then suddenly, not any more, and again, until he doffs it...

Fight scene in front of the hotel / another shadow: While the fight scene in front of the Park Woods Motel you have to look out for the shadow. Partial KITT and the actors cast a cloud over the street, in other scenes there are only few shadows because the sky is overcast. This could be due to the fact, that Justin Bruening has been hurt by shooting the scene so that they had to reset some positions on another day. Likewise I believe, that the feet of the dead mother lie in another position than in other scenes.

Car chase / another shadow: While the car chase in the end of the film, some scenes should be edited randomly. In some scenes, you can see a shadow behind KITT and subsequent to the right of the vehicles, and then afterwards, in front of them. In the film, it shall be real time, but in reality it is not possible, that the street or the sun make such turns so that the shadows are suchlike changing.

Car chase / KITT is destroyed and repaired: While Mike, Sarah and KITT hunt the vehicle of the bad guys, one headlight is broken, as well as the driving mirror and one window. In the following scene, all these things are safe. (According to the film, KITT is deactivated and is getting reactivated by Sarah later – if he is deactivated, KITT is vulnerable and the damages would rest, because there is no chance for self-healing.)

Final scene / Multi-function display not encouraged: Short time before Mike with KITT leave the new mobile headquarter, he looks out of the car window. Then you should see the multi-function display – instead of it, you only can see a dressing. Like in the scene with the car chase on campus, they forgot the animation in this scene.

Schlußszene / KITTs Kennzeichen: In dieser Szene hat KITT kein California Nummernschild. Die Zahlen auf der Plakette sind zweizeilig, in der unteren Zeile ist "8112" zu lesen. In anderen Szenen des Filmes hat KITT das Califorrnische Kennzeichen 5QCH037, was man somit schon fast als Standard ansehen kann.

Mike mother’s home / two different houses? Charles Graiman caves in the home of Mikes mother. The house appears as a cheap cabin. In the end of the film, Mike and Sarah visit a house, which shall be the home of Mike’s mother. But this is a very elegant house in the woods. Was the first house the real home of his mother, or does the house has got such different views? Or was it only a film mistake and they shoot in two different houses?

Churchyard scene / different spotlight: Please consider the different spotlight, when Mike and Michael opposed each other. When they were shot by the left side, their right side of the face was spotlighted and when they were shot by the front there are no light effects. When Sarah passes Mike, he was clouded- this can not be, because the sun is behind him. In this scene, they apparently used synthetic light to spot their faces.

In general / Information Mike Traceur: Information about Mike Traceur can be seen two times, but different. One time there is shown his driving licence, the other time some dates from his military dossier. The indications of size and weight are different. According to his driving licence he has a height of 6.2 Inch (ca. 1.88m) and weights 160 lbs (ca. 72.5 kg), according to his military dossier he has a height of 6.3 Inch and weights 185 lbs.

In general / KITT’s backlights: In some scenes the backlights of KITT have to be active, but they aren’t. While the escape from the basement garage of the Casino, there is a brake action and the camera stands behind KITT. But you can see clearly, that the backlights do not glow although they should be activated. Also, when Michael has to wee, the headlight is on, but you can see clearly, that the backlights are off. Background: The backlights and the stoplight are not functional in fact. Sam Nicholson, the responsible person for computer animations, revealed in an interview (read), that these lights are not functional and were added by animation afterwards – evidently they forgot these animations in some scenes.
