Knight Rider 2000

In 2001 (in Germany first aired in 2003) a Spin-Off of the series Knight Rider was shown. Here you can see David Hasselhoff alias Michael Knight and Eduard Mulhare alias Devon Miles.

Knight Rider 2000 - The Story

In the meantime, destructive weapons are forbidden. But suddenly, they appear again. The Foundation for Law and Constitution teeters on the brink of collapse. Only the achievement in a fight against crime should help her. And to achieve that, they need the one and only: Michael Knight. By now, Michael enjoys his retirement, going fishing and restoring his 57er Chevy. He is supposed to come back and to put a stop to the evil’s game. But Michael’s old colleague, the prodigy car KITT, has been intermittent exploited. Some of the old computer chips are found, but some of these has been implanted to the policewoman Shawn McCormick after an assassination – and, as fortune wants it, she is Michael’s new fellow. In his 57er Chevy, and with assistance of a partial reactivated KITT, in the form of a portable radio, they start to fight against crime. But they have to admit, that they can not get ahead this way. So Michael makes the pocket setting from KITT into the prototype Knight 4000 – an experimental vehicle of the Foundation of Law and Constitution. Will they make it this way?

Knight Rider 2000 - Knight 4000

This is the only film with appearance of Knight 4000, so he is the “Big Unknown”. Unlike to the 80s series, Knight 4000 is no longer a black vehicle, but a glaring red one. The base is no longer a Trans AM, but an altered Dodge Stealth, who is bases on a Pontiac Banshee- an automobile concept, which has never entered a mass production. But Knight 4000 kept the typical red scanner at the front. With assistance of this scanner, Knight 4000, like KITT, is able to analyse cars, objects, houses and actually smells. Knight 4000 is not from metal, but manufactured with a new, nearly indestructible compound. He possesses a Virtual Reality Mode, which demonstrates roads and barricades in the front panel. As well, there is a heat sensors integrated. More, he is able to drive on water. Like KITT, Knight 4000 possesses a Comlink to Michael for their communication and which helps the vehicle, to complete some actions. With his supersonics, he is able to incapacitate persons. By default, Knight 4000 gets up to a rate of 300 miles per hours.
